Majors: Psychology & Women’s Studies
Graduation Date: May 6, 2016
Not Counted Because: Transferred

As a military dependent I found one of the greatest challenges in completing a degree was not in mastering the coursework but in finishing a college degree at the same college I started from. From life as a stay-at-home mother to a chronically ill son and daughter with autism and later as full-time caretaker of my disabled veteran husband also required me to temporarily abandon my studies to attend to family needs.

After graduation I will continue my education at the University of Central Oklahoma pursuing a double major in psychology and social work with a minor in women’s studies. I hope to continue through my master’s degree in social work, which will allow me to follow my passion of providing support and encouragement to other women and work as an advocate for domestic violence survivors. I hope to motivate other women to pursue education as a valuable resource in their own lives.
