My college career began at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, before I transferred to Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. Following graduation, I taught preschool for nine years. In 2007, I changed career paths and took a job at Cal Poly. In mid-2008, I was accepted into Cal Poly’s Psychology and Child Development Program. I balanced a full-time job at Cal Poly, while attending classes part-time and raising two young children. In March 2016, I completed work on my undergraduate degree.
After graduation, I will seek a master’s degree in education in Cal Poly’s Education, Counseling and Guidance Program. In the fall of 2016, I will attend graduate school full-time and will work a 40-hour-per-week job as a receptionist for the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Office. My career goal is to become an academic advisor in higher education.
