Stephanie Martin, University of Tampa (FL)

Major: Public Health
Minor: Sociology
Graduation Date: May 7, 2016
Not Counted Because: Transferred

I transferred schools because I was looking to get more out of my college experience. Choosing the right major and being in a positive and fun environment were the aspects I was looking for in a school. At the University of Tampa the public health program is small and the professors really care about you. Greek life helped me branch out and become a stronger leader. The weather in Tampa is also a plus and makes me happier. It seemed like the best decision to transfer here and I’m glad I did.

After graduation, I will be departing in July to serve with AmeriCorps NCCC as a FEMA Corps member. My home base will be in Vicksburg, Mississippi, where I will be assigned to a team of 8-12 people. I will get to travel the United States doing disaster relief and emergency management work. I am hoping to get a job in this field afterwards or extend my service another 10 months as a team leader for FEMA Corps.
