I began earning my college degree in 1997. Twenty years later, I’m graduating in May with my bachelor’s of applied science from Indiana University Northwest. My journey had many starts and stops, mostly because of my family and work obligations. After several years of working toward my degree, and earning many credits, life got too busy and I had to put my dreams on hold. Despite the challenges, I did not want to give up. I will be IU Northwest’s first and only graduate of the applied science program!
Twenty years ago, I started working on the degree so that I simply could earn my bachelor’s degree. But, over the years, my mind has been opened up to the world, and I’ve come to realize I thrive in an academic setting. I love to learn. I am considering continuing my education by enrolling in a master’s program, perhaps the master of liberal studies program offered at IU Northwest. I am still weighing my options and hope to make a decision soon.
