The Student Achievement Measure (SAM) provides a comprehensive picture of student progress on their path to earning a college degree or certificate – no matter if they start part-time or transfer before completing their studies! SAM tracks student movement across post-secondary institutions to provide a more complete picture of undergraduate student progress and completion within the higher education system. As compared to the limitations of typical graduation rate measures, which only report outcomes for students who start full-time and finish at the same institution, SAM reports more outcomes for more students. With more than 630 post-secondary institutions already participating, SAM has tracked the progress and success of 1.3 million more students than the federal government’s measure.
