The Student Achievement Measure is supported by six sponsoring associations, working together to provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of student progress and completion as students move across institutions and state boundaries.

University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) is an 1890 Land-Grant HBCU with a diverse student population. Created in 1873 by the State Legislature and located in the heart of the Arkansas Delta, UAPB is the second oldest public university in Arkansas, and the only public historically black institution in Arkansas. The student to teacher ratio is 14:1 which makes it possible to maintain a learning environment with close interactions between students and faculty. The University offers 31 undergraduate degree programs, 12 master's degrees, and a Ph.D. program in Aquaculture Fisheries that is recognized as one of the leading programs in the country. Though the main campus is in Pine Bluff, its reach is worldwide. With the addition of the Arkansas Research and Education Optical Network (ARE-ON), students can engage in information exchange with others anywhere in the world. There are also Research and Extension offices in Lonoke, Newport and Lake Village and collaborations with other colleges and universities in the State through the National Science Foundation funded STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Academy. Regionally UAPB is the institution of choice for students interested in teacher education and is responsible for training a majority of minority teachers in the Arkansas Delta. The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has a legacy of being a student-focused, success-driven, and mission-based institution.
