The Student Achievement Measure is supported by six sponsoring associations, working together to provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of student progress and completion as students move across institutions and state boundaries.

University of New Hampshire-Main Campus

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) intends to utilize the information generated through SAM to better understand and respond to student enrollment behaviors as they pertain to persistence and graduation. Our intention is to consider the implications of this data and devise strategies that address root causes of student enrollment behaviors that we would like to positively reinforce or influence. Our retention rates are strong, but there is opportunity for improvement, particularly for sub-populations within our entering cohorts of students. Understanding what happens to our students (first year and transfer) who leave UNH for other institutions or stop out of post-secondary education entirely, will be critical to our ability to affect change on our campus. Additionally, this information will be useful when made available to prospective students to more fully evaluate the University.
