The Student Achievement Measure is supported by six sponsoring associations, working together to provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of student progress and completion as students move across institutions and state boundaries.
CUNY Medgar Evers College
Medgar Evers College (MEC) is a four-year institution that offers degree programs both at the baccalaureate and the associate degree levels, giving close attention to the articulation between the two-year and the four-year programs. Renowned for its stellar programs, student support services, dedicated and gifted faculty who are leaders in their fields, the College is experiencing an exciting time in the history of the institution. Most recently, Medgar Evers College celebrated the reopening of the $22 million dollar refurbished Charles Evans Innis Memorial Library. With more than 90,000 volumes and a vast online database, the library will serve as both a research and community space for students, faculty and staff. The College is proud of the strong degree programs offered through its three Schools – Business; Liberal Arts and Education; and Science, Health and Technology; as well as the certificate programs through the School of Professional and Community Development. The recently instituted Medgar Evers Pipeline Initiative (MEPI) is an academic blueprint designed to offer school communities an avenue to strengthen student success at key transitions – elementary school through high school, college admission, associate and baccalaureate degree completion, and beyond. The MEPI embraces schools in Brooklyn in a collaborative partnership. Students at MEC are provided with a solid foundation of general education to prepare them to achieve personal and academic goals, through an approach that is fundamentally qualitative and transformative with a student-centered curriculum. In a rapidly evolving world, the College is looking towards expanding its already robust academic offerings with a new program in law and education, and with continued support of its well-defined career pathways and internship opportunities. As one of the younger members of the CUNY family, MEC will celebrate its 45th anniversary in 2015 and remains committed to developing and maintaining high quality, professional, career-oriented undergraduate degree programs.Fall 2012 First-time Full-time Cohort
