The Student Achievement Measure is supported by six sponsoring associations, working together to provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of student progress and completion as students move across institutions and state boundaries.
Bismarck State College
Bismarck State College, the third largest college in North Dakota, is an innovative community college, offering high quality education, workforce training, and enrichment programs reaching local and global communities. Serving over 4,000 students each semester, BSC offers over 40 programs leading to a certificate, diploma, or an associate degree, as well as liberal arts courses that transfer to 4-year colleges and universities. BSC offers 18 online degree programs and one bachelor’s degree in energy management, and in cooperation with other North Dakota University System institutions, offers several additional bachelor’s degrees and graduate programs on campus. Students enrolling in BSC’s energy management bachelor’s degree program are admitted with junior standing after having completed an associate degree, certificate, or diploma in an approved energy related program of study from BSC or another regionally accredited institution. Despite the bachelor’s degree offering, BSC is primarily an associate degree and certificate granting institution and completes the associate degree and certificate program model of the Student Achievement Measure. To account for the students in the cohort who earned a bachelor’s degree, these students are included in the associate degree or certificate award outcome measures if they earned that respective degree/award from BSC as well. If students only earned a bachelor’s degree from BSC, they cannot be included in any of the outcome categories within the associate degree and certificate model. The cohort sizes are adjusted to reflect the exclusion of these students.Fall 2018 First-time Full-time Cohort
