The University of Memphis, founded in 1912, is a major metropolitan research university committed to excellence in education and service to the community. Governed by an independent board of trustees, the U of M offers 16 bachelor’s degrees in more than 55 majors and 75 concentrations, master’s degrees in more than 50 subject areas, and doctoral degrees in 27 disciplines, as well as the juris doctorate (law) and specialist in education degrees, and over 40 graduate certificates.
